The Higher Learning Commission team visited Southwest Minnesota State University on February 2-4, 2004. In its exit session, the HLC team recommended a 10-year continued accreditation for Southwest Minnesota State University. The Higher Learning Commission Institutional Actions Council voted to continue the accreditation of Southwest Minnesota State University on June 14, 2004, and the Higher Learning Commission Board of Trustees validated that action through its validation process concluded on June 21, 2004.
The next visit will take place during the 2013-2014 academic year.
