Life is about making choices with consequences that cannot be seen until we travel down the path for a bit. At Southwest Minnesota State University we believe in the student first and helping them to not only achieve their academic goals but also their personal goals. We are about the whole person allowing for the development of the individual to become a critical thinker in a world that requires decisions in mille seconds rather than hours or days found during the time when Frost wrote his poem.

SMSU is a place on the Prairie where the student can grow, learn from the best, meet people of all backgrounds, and enjoy the excitement of a highly active and diverse University life!
