TRiO SucceSS

MISSION:
The Mission of the TRiO SucceSS project is to (1) identify 1st generation, low income and or disabled eligible students in need of academic support (2) to provide advising and supportive services so as to enable participants to be retained and graduated and, where appropriate, to enroll in graduate and professional programs; and (3) to enrich the campus climate by developing respect and appreciation for the diversity of style, communication and talent people with disabilities, ethnic diversity and academic preparation, bring to the academic community.
What is TRiO SucceSS?
TRiO SucceSS is a federally funded project that enables Southwest Minnesota State University to provide supportive services to eligible students. These services, and the staff which provide them, help TRiO students to be academically and professionally successful.

Who can be a TRiO SucceSS?
TRiO SucceSS students are chosen from the entering student populations who meet one or more criteria:
First Generation: Students neither of whose parents, guardians or caregivers have completed college nor received a bachelor’s degree.
Low Income: Students whose family income is 150% of poverty level or less.
Disability: Students whose disability affects their academic performance.
