Welcome to the SMSU Writing Center! Writing Consultants can work with you on any kind of paper for any class, and at any stage of the writing, whether you need help identifying a topic, organizing the ideas, learning how to cite appropriately, or using punctuation correctly.

The Writing Center will open for Spring Semester 2017 beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 17th. We will be closed on days that the University is closed (MLK Day, Presidents' Day, Spring Break, and closures due to weather).

To make an appointment, use our online scheduling system and choose from a face-to-face appointment where you come to the Writing Center to work with the consultant in person (BA 527), an online appointment where you chat with the consultant (Online Meeting/Chat), or an online appointment where you upload your paper and receive comments via email (eTutoring).

If the appointment time you prefer is taken or the schedule is fully booked, please sign up for the Waiting List. You will receive an email or text message (if you signed up for text messaging in your profile) if an appointment becomes available that day.
