Homecoming Parade Starts Hour Later
Marshall, Minn. — The Southwest Minnesota State University Homecoming parade will start at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2. The 11 a.m. start time is an hour later than usual.
The parade line-up will begin at 10 a.m. at Independence Park on Lyon St. The parade will go to Main St., turn north and end at Fifth St.
This year’s Homecoming theme is “Vote Stanger.”
After the parade, Ag Bowl events begin in the R/A parking lot at 2:30 p.m. The football game with Wayne State kicks off at 6 p.m.
Dr. Jeff Kolnick helped found the Fannie Lou Hamer Institute, and will be honored later this year in celebration of its 20th anniversary
SMSU will host the Ag Bowl Scholarship Invitational Friday, Feb. 17. FFA teams from the region will compete in 15 FFA-certified Career Development Events (CDEs).
SMSU has been named first runner-up nationally for the Fresh Check Day Campus Award.
SMSU has partnered with United Way of Southwest Minnesota to creats MustangsVolunteer, a central hub where students and others can go to seek volunteer opportunities
