‘Campus & Community Connect’ Event April 28

Published Friday, March 20, 2015

Connecting underserved populations with community resources is the idea behind Campus & Community Connect, which will be held from 2-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 in the Conference Center Ballroom at Southwest Minnesota State University.

The event is an effort to help underserved populations in Marshall and the region gain access to community resources, programs and free services.

The event features three key elements: health clinic, wellness fair and resource expo. Educational presentations and health demonstrations will be held throughout the event.

Free services at the Campus & Community Connect event include basic health assessments, including blood pressure, body fat analysis, pulse, respiration, height and weight; free haircuts provided by the Minnesota West Pipestone cosmetology program; a healthy, portable lunch/dinner; and care packages of everyday essentials.

Also participating in the event will be a number of vendors, including dental, mental health, dietary, literacy, veterans, fitness and human services.
