Lecy, Herrman Reign Over SMSU Homecoming

Marshall, Minn. — Kyle Lecy, a senior Agriculture Business major from Echo, Minn., and Karissa Herrman, a junior Early Childhood Education major from Becker, Minn., were crowned Homecoming king and queen at Southwest Minnesota State University during coronation Sept. 24.

Lecy is the son of Steve and Marsha Lecy. Herrman is the daughter of Dan and Gina Herrman.

The other king candidates included:

  • Alex Weis, a senior Physical Education teaching major from Luverne, Minn. He is the son of Tony and Natasha Weis.
  • Austin LaFollette, a junior Biology and Chemistry major from Edgerton, Minn. He is the son of Ahren and Lynn LaFollette.
  • Lee Holt, a senior Business Management major from Windom, Minn. He is the son of Greg and Julie Holt.
  • Dallin Finley, a junior Psychology major from Kennesaw, Ga. He is the son of Anthony and Monica Finley.
  • Jordan Shuft, a senior Accounting and Finance major from Glencoe, Minn. He is the son of Gaylen and Sheri Shuft.
  • Richard Obermann, a senior Biology and Philosophy major from Eden Prairie, Minn. He is the son of Bruce and Carol Obermann.

Other queen candidates included:

  • Felicia Pineda, a junior Marketing and Agriculture Business major from Madelia, Minn. She is the daughter of Darrin Grothem and Melissa Knudtson.
  • Stephanie Asfeld, a junior Accounting and Management major with a minor in Marketing from Clarissa, Minn. She is the daughter of Brian and Lesa Boser.
  • Kaylee Benson, a senior Mathematics major from Jackson, Minn. She is the daughter of Nate and Kelly Benson.
  • Megan A. Johnson, a junior Business Management major from Garretson, S.D. She is the daughter of Brian and Teresa Johnson.
  • Elizabeth Senkyr, a senior Biology major with a minor in Nutrition from Franklin, Minn.  She is the daughter of Robert and Cecilia Senkyr.
  • Honor-Ra Hanson, a senior Social Work major from Sauk Centre, Minn. She is the daughter of Kyle and Kathleen Thomes.
  • Racquel Winters, a junior Social Work major from Montevideo, Minn. She is the daughter of Jamie and Jennifer Winters.
     

The freshman female representative was Brooklynn Hiles, the daughter of Thad and Ruth Hiles from Huron, S.D.

The freshman male representative was Lucas Clements, the son of Jeff and Michelle Clements

The sophomore female representative was Katarina Kuhlmann, the daughter of Tom and Kim Kuhlmann from Dawson, Minn.

The sophomore male representative was Evan Bonneson, the son of Dan and Roxanne Bonneson from Cottage Grove, Minn.
