Published Monday, September 28, 2015

Luis Argueta, producer of the film ABRAZOS, will be on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University Sept. 29 to present a screening of the movie ABRAZOS at 6 p.m. in the Conference Center Lower Ballroom.

ABRAZOS tells the transformational journey of a group of U.S. citizen children who travel from Minnesota to Guatemala to meet their grandparents for the first time.

After being separated for nearly two decades, these families are able to share stories, strengthen traditions and begin to reconstruct their cultural identity.

There are 4.5 million U.S. citizen children living with at least one undocumented parent. ABRAZOS is the story of 14 of them.

The event is sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion; Access, Opportunity Success; and Club Latino.

The screening is free and open to the public.
