*Voice students are encouraged to take Applied Opera Workshop (2 credits) up to two times in order to prepare for professional careers and graduate school. In addition, it is suggested that voice students take foreign language courses while at SMSU as vocalists are expected to sing in multiple languages. These can be elective courses within the 120 credit degree requirement. Additional foreign languages may be available through the World Language Consortium.

Reminder: In order to graduate, they must complete 40 hours of upper-division course work (300 or higher). Music courses comprise 36 of these hours; therefore students must complete at least 4 hours of upper division courses in their electives.
