The McFarland Library strives to provide spaces and services to support student research!

Students can access the following supports & services:

Librarians provide Information Literacy instruction sessions in specific courses upon faculty request. Librarians have developed Student Learning Outcomes for select courses and provide tools such as a Periodical/Journal Chart and Research Guides to support student understanding and research.

Students have the opportunity to publish original research articles in Discovery: The SMSU Journal of Undergraduate Research and fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry in SMSU's Perceptions publication.

The library employs student workers to help patrons at our main desk, shelve materials, and assist with other projects. Interested in working in the McFarland Library?  Fill out an application: McFarland Library Student Assistant Application
