Susan M. Hoisington, PsyD, LP, is the keynote speaker. Clay Pavlis, MD, and Jody Gladis, Detective are the other workshop presenters. Millions of people in the United States suffer from alcohol and drug problems that co-occur with mental health issues. Significant rates of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and personality disorders occur over the lifespan of individuals with addiction disorders. Concurrently, a relatively high rate of individuals presenting for mental health services suffer from alcohol and drug dependency. The workshop sessions will explore the evolution of co-occurring disorders, key issues in the area of assessment, strategies for integrated treatment, impact on the local area, and psychiatric problems associated with co-occurring disorders.
