SPRING SEMESTER 2019 IMPORTANT DATES

December 20, 2018:  Minimum Payment Due

December 31 to January 18, 2019:  Bookstore charging available

January 14, 2019:  First Day of Spring Semester

January 17, 2019:  Must have parking permit displayed or may be ticketed

January 18, 2019:  Last Day to Add Classes or Drop Classes with a Refund

January 18, 2019:  must meet minimum payment criteria

January 21, 2019:  Martin Luther King Day, No Classes

January 22, 2019:  Registration Cancellation for Non-Payment, if minimum payment criteria is not met by January 22, classes will be dropped

January 23, 2019:  Financial Aid applied to bill

January 25, 2019:  FINANCIAL AID OVERAGES will begin being deposited into bank accounts for those who have set up direct deposit.  If no direct deposit, paper checks will be mailed to the student's local address on file as of January 22, 2019.

February 18, 2019:  President's Day, No Classes

February 19, 2019:  DUE DATE FOR SPRING.  If on an SMSU Payment Plan, a $30 charge will apply and 1/2 of total account balance must be paid.

March 11-15, 2019: Spring Break, No Classes

March 19, 2019:  Final Payment Due Date for SMSU Payment Plan.  A$50 late fee will be applied if there is an account balance after this date.

April 16, 2019:  Last Day to Drop with a "W"

May 3, 2019:  Last Day of Classes

May 6-9, 2019:  Final Exams

May 11, 2019:  Commencement

 

SUMMER SEMESTER 2019 IMPORTANT DATES

February 20, 2019:  First day to register for summer courses

May 13 to June 3, 2019:  Bookstore charging available

May 28, 2019:  Tuesday, First Day of Summer Session

Last Day to Drop a summer course with a refund:  See date for each individual course in E-Services or the Registration & Class Schedule on the SMSU website under Quick Links.

June 3, 2019:  Monday, Deadline for signing up for direct deposit if you would like your financial aid overage by direct deposit (rather than by mail by check).

June 3, 2019:  Monday, Minimum payment criteria must be met to hold your course registrations for all Summer courses regardless of the start date of the course (Check your student e-services account online to determine if you have met the minimum payment criteria.  A green "GO" symbol means requirements have been met, a red "STOP" symbol means your registration is at risk of cancellations for non-payment.

June 4, 2019:   Tuesday, Registration Cancellation for Non-Payment processed.  If you have not met the minimum payment criteria, your courses will be dropped.

June 5, 2019:  Wednesday, Financial Aid applied.  Financial Aid holds will be applied to students who received financial aid.  Holds will remain until July 9.

June 7, 2019:  Friday, Financial Aid Overages will begin to be deposited into bank accounts for those who have set up direct deposit.  If no direct deposit is set up, checks will be mailed to the student's local address on file as of June 4, 2019.

June 13, 2019: Thursday, Due Date for Summer account balances.  If accounts are not paid in full, a $30 internal payment plan fee will be charged.  The internal payment plan, 1/2 of your remaining student account balance is due.

July 11, 2019:  Thursday, Final Payment due date if on SMSU Payment Plan.  A$50 late fee will be applied if there is an account balance after this date.

SMSU Financial Statement

Southwest Minnesota State University is a member of the Minnesota State College and University (Minnesota State) System. As a member of Minnesota State, Southwest Minnesota State's financial statements are a part of the Minnesota State financial statement. SMSU is also individually audited by an independent auditing firm. SMSU's and Minnesota State's financial statements are available online at www.minnstate.edu/system/finance/accounting/financialstatements/yearendstatements/index.html. A copy of SMSU's audit has been placed on reserve at the library.
