Scholarships

Environmental Science Scholarships and Awards

Various scholarships are offered within the Science Department. Below is a listing of scholarships for Environmental Science majors. Funding amounts are limited and vary yearly. Not all scholarships are available on a yearly basis. Scholarship applications are normally reviewed in spring semester. Scholarship awards are disbursed through the SMSU Financial Aid office.

 

  • Arthur J. and Elaine I. Kronke Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded to a full-time Environmental Science Major of junior or senior standing, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrated leadership ability.   • Dr. Roger Reede Endowed Scholarship - Donated by Mark and Deborah Sunwall. This scholarship is a minimum of $500 per recipient per year. The scholarship is for an upperclassman majoring in Environmental Science with Geology emphasis or Geology minor. If there are no applicants with a Geology emphasis or minor, preference will be given to students pursuing teaching degrees in Earth Science or Physical Science.   • Randall J. and Jean S. Replinger Award for Excellence in Environmental Science - This award is given to a senior Environmental Science major who has demonstrated academic excellence; has shown superior performance in designing, conducting and presenting an independent research project; has made a presentation at the SMSU Undergraduate Research Conference and has given an additional presentation to the local community.
