The Blue to Brown (B2B) Connection program is a partnership between Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) and the Minnesota West Community and Technical College (MN West) and is located within the Student Success & Advising Center at SMSU.

Participants in the B2B Connection Program receive the best of both institutions from the very beginning of their collegiate career.  Benefits include saving money by taking MN West classes on SMSU’s campus, while receiving the residential experience living in their very own living and learning community within the residence halls at SMSU. Students also have access to clubs, organizations, student activities, support services, tutoring, fitness areas, intramurals (excluding participation in intercollegiate athletics), and much more all within walking distance.

B2B participants must complete 24 Minnesota Transfer Curriculum credits in two semesters and earn a minimum GPA of 2.0.  Once students accomplish this, they will be able to apply and officially transfer into SMSU to become full-time SMSU students!  Overall, the B2B Connection program aims to give students additional academic and social support as they begin their college experience.  Through their involvement in the program, students will be given tools to enhance their success at the university level.  They will also be given the opportunity for many different forms of personal and professional development so that they can tap into their true strengths and abilities.
