Tell me about your Master of Science in Education?
The Master of Science in Education (Academic Catalog)- On Campus Program is designed to develop leadership capacity in teachers and learners, transforming education by implementing change in classrooms and/or work settings. Conducted in a learning community format, the program curriculum utilizes current research on community building, teaching and learning, inquiry, ethics, technology, and social action, as well as the life experiences of the participants. Participants also enhance their expertise in content areas. The themes of the program are consistent with concepts of diversity, democracy, and dignity, focusing on technology, scholarship, community building, leadership, teaching, and learning theory, and portfolio assessment. SMSU's Master of Science in Education has emphasis in the following areas:

How do I apply?
In order to be admitted to the program, certain Admission Requirements must be met. Once you understand the requirements and are ready to join the program, you may begin the application process. By applying now you may qualify for some incentives. Make sure to check it out! Also, don't forget the required immunization record that must be completed by all students attending Post-Secondary Schools in Minnesota. You may apply to the program through an online application and submit it directly online, or print off the application, fill it out, and send it to the SMSU School of Graduate Studies, 1501 State Street, Marshall, MN 56258.
3. What if I have credits I'd like to transfer into the program?
Please take the time to send an official transcript from the school you received your graduate credits. They do need to be with in the last 7 years. Also, complete a petition form and summit it to the graduate office.
4. How much is tuition?
Tuition changes with each academic year. The cost for graduate credits will vary based on what program you plan to be a part of.
5. Is financial aid available?
Financial aid is available to students who need it. You can find information on applying for financial aid at the SMSU Financial Aid website. You will need to summit the FAFSA form. If you are interested in receiving a grant, look over the TEACH Grant and Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program information sheets, and check the list of schools and educational programs which qualified for grants in 2013-2014.
