Beth Spieles, Information Officer in the Center
for Rural and Regional Studies, has been appointed to the executive
board of the Minnesota
Association for Environmental Education (MAEE) for 2001. The
mission of MAEE is to promote a responsible citizenry through
environmental education and action. The non-profit organization
strives to be a unifying voice for environmental education in
the state. Board members represent state agencies, environmental
learning centers, museums/aquaria, formal education institutions,
non-profit organizations, and industry. In her role as the Southwest
Minnesota Representative, Spieles organizes resource "share fairs,"
coordinates networking events, and contributes to a quarterly
newsletter.
