Aster Family
A coarse plant with hairy, unbranched stems growing 2 to 4 feet tall. The alternate oval to oblong stem leaves and the stalked basal leaves, growing up to 10 inches long and 5 inches wide, are rough with short, stiff hairs. Flower heads are in a wide, flat, or somewhat rounded cluster that is ½ inch wide with 7 to 14 yellow rays surrounding the central disk flowers.
