FALL 2017 SEMESTER IMPORTANT DATES

July 31, 2017 Minimum Payment Due

August 7, 2017 Bookstore Charging begins

August 17, 2017 Freshman Move in Day

August 17 - 20, 2017 Freshman Orientation

August 21, 2017 On Campus Classes Begin - Official First Day of Semester

August 25, 2017 Last Day to Add Classes or Drop Classes with a Refund

August 25, 2017 - must meet minimum payment criteria Click here for a link to the minimum payment criteria.

August 28, 2017 Registration Cancellation for Non-Payment, if minimum payment criteria is not met by August 25th, classes will be dropped 

August 29, 2017 Financial Aid applied to student accounts

September 1, 2017 Financial Aid Overages will begin being deposited into bank accounts for those who have set up direct deposit.  If no direct deposit is set up, checks will be mailed to the student's local address on file as of August 25, 2017.

September 4, 2017 Labor Day, No Classes

September 5, 2017 Must have parking permit displayed or may be ticketed

September 26, 2017 DUE DATE FOR FALL.  If on an SMSU Payment Plan, $30 charge will apply and 1/2 of total account balance must be paid.

October 26, 2017 Final Payment Due Date for SMSU Payment Plan.  ($50 late fee will be applied after this date)

November 10, 2017 Veterans Day - No Classes

November 21, 2017 Last Day to Drop with a "W"

November 22 - 24, 2017 Thanksgiving Break, No Classes

December 8, 2017 Last Day of Classes

December 11 - 14, 2017 Final Exams

SMSU Financial Statement

Southwest Minnesota State University is a member of the Minnesota State College and University (MnSCU) System. As a member of MnSCU, Southwest Minnesota State's financial statements are a part of the MnSCU financial statement. SMSU is also individually audited by an independent auditing firm. SMSU's and MnSCU's financial statements are available online at www.financialreporting.mnscu.edu. A copy of SMSU's audit has been placed on reserve at the library.
