Summer 2017 Important Dates:
May 22, 2017 (Monday): First Day of Summer Session
Last Day to Drop a summer course with a refund: See date for each individual course in E-Services or the Registration & Class Schedule on the SMSU website under Quick Links.
May 26, 2017 (Friday): Deadline for signing up for direct deposit if you would like your financial aid overage by direct deposit (rather than by mail by check).
May 26, 2017 (Friday): Minimum Payment Criteria must be met to hold your course registrations for all Summer courses regardless of the start date of the course (Check your student e-services account online to determine if you have met the minimum payment criteria. A green "GO" symbol means requirements have been met, a red "STOP" symbol means your registration is at risk of cancellation for non-payment.) May 30, 2017 (Tuesday): Registration Cancellation for Non-Payment processed. If you have not met the minimum payment criteria, your courses will be dropped.
May 31, 2017 (Wednesday): Financial Aid applied.
June 2, 2017 (Friday): Financial Aid Overages will begin being deposited into bank accounts for those who have set up direct deposit. If no direct deposit is set up, checks will be mailed to the student's local address on file as of May 30, 2017.
June 7, 2017 (Wednesday): Due Date For Summer account balances. Please see your bills online in E-Services. If accounts are not paid in full, a $30 internal payment plan fee will be charged. The internal payment plan, 1/2 of your remaining student account balance is due.
July 7, 2017 (Friday): Final Payment Due Date if on an internal payment plan. Your student account must be at a zero balance after today. A $50 late fee will be applied to any student account with a remaining balance.

SMSU Financial Statement
Southwest Minnesota State University is a member of the Minnesota State College and University (MnSCU) System. As a member of MnSCU, Southwest Minnesota State's financial statements are a part of the MnSCU financial statement. SMSU is also individually audited by an independent auditing firm. SMSU's and MnSCU's financial statements are available online at www.financialreporting.mnscu.edu. A copy of SMSU's audit has been placed on reserve at the library.
