This page will continually be updated as we get more questions being asked about the new content management system.

  1. How do I create link to another website?
    1. While in the edit prompt for a page, highlight the text you want to create as a link.
    2. Choose the link icon/button in the WYSIWYG editor toolbar. It looks like two mountains with a sun/moon.
    3. Choose "External" link type
    4. Enter the web address to the external site in the "Link" field
    5. Click "Ok"
    6. Submit the page to create a new version.
    7. Publish the page to send it to the server.
  2. How do I link to a file that I have uploaded?
    1. While in the edit prompt for a page, highlight the text you want to create as a link.
    2. Choose the link icon/button in the WYSIWYG editor toolbar. It looks like two mountains with a sun/moon.
    3. Choose "Internal" link type
    4. Use the chooser button to navigate to the file you are going to link to.
    5. Select the circle radio button to select the file.
    6. Click "Choose"
    7. Click "Ok"
    8. Submit the page to create a new version.
    9. Publish the page to send it to the server.
  3. Who do I contact if there is something wrong with the website?
    1. In most cases, you would contact the department that is represented by the particular portion of the website. Each department has an appointed person to maintain and develop content for their section, so it may be appropriate to talk to someone within the department to find out who is responsible.
    2. If you are still unable to resolve the concern, please contact the Web Services Office at local extension 6123.
  4. How do I move an uploaded file into a folder that I have created?
    You have a few options:
    1. Click and drag the file into another folder that you have access to modify.
    2. Find the file in the folder tree, right click on it (command + click for macs) and select "Move". Select the appropriate folder in the folder chooser and click the "Move" button.
    3. Delete the file then upload it into the appropriate folder.
    4. If all of these options don't work you may contact Web Services for assistance at extension 6123.
  5. How do I upload a file into a specific folder?
    1. Navigate to your page's corresponding folder within the /resources/webspaces/ folder and click the right facing arrow so the list of the folder contents/files appear in the asset preview area.
    2. Click the "Add Content" button at the top of the browser window.
    3. Click "File"
    4. Drag and drop your file from your computer into the prompt or use the "choose" link in the prompt to locate the file you are going to upload.
    5. Click the “Upload” Button.
    6. Click "Publish" in order to send the file to the webserver.
