Department of Nursing- Graduate Assistant
Educational Objectives:
Develop skills related to nursing program assessment and evaluation.
Participate in the accreditation activities of the SMSU nursing programs.
Salary & Appointment:
Position appointed on an annual basis for August-May (academic year).
Annual stipend of $8,000 paid on a bi-weekly basis and a tuition waiver for SMSU graduate classes.
The graduate assistant will work an average of 14 hours per week during the spring and fall semesters
and possibly in the summer as arranged.
Qualifications:
Must have an unencumbered and current Registered Nurse License in Minnesota.
Must be a full or part-time student in the MSN Nurse Educator Program.
Must meet all requirements for admission to the MSN Nurse Educator Program.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Chair of Nursing and Nursing Directors in tasks related to program assessment, evaluation,
and accreditation of undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.
May work remotely via internet to complete assigned work.
Assists with and attends Nursing Pinning Event/Ceremony.
Participates in select Department and Program meetings.
Meets with Chair and Program Directors via Zoom as needed related to program assessment,
evaluation, and accreditation work.

Chair, directors, faculty, and staff in nursing
Supervision:
Under direction of the Chair and Director of the Department of Nursing
