Mustang Market- Graduate Assistant

Educational Objectives:

-Support a collective health approach for University students by providing food access to students in need. Research and planning with the Hunger Task Force Advisory Council to create initiatives and objectives to better support the campus community. Planning and execution of events to increase outreach and visibility of the Market. Promote dignified student basic needs support.

 

Salary & Appointment:

-Position appointed on an annual basis for August-May. Annual stipend of $8,000 paid on a bi-weekly basis and a tuition waiver for SMSU graduate classes.

 

Qualifications:

-Experience working with diverse populations. Organized, articulate and team player. Good oral and written communication skills.

 

Responsibilities:

-Assist with inventory, stocking, ordering, and general operations of the Mustang Market. Co-chair the Hunger Task Force Advisory Council. Plan and execute hunger awareness events. Work the Market on distribution days. Assist in coordination of volunteers. Assist in managing appointments.

 

Clientele:

-SMSU students facing food insecurity

 

Supervision:

-Joyce Tofte
-GA will assist supervising Mustang Market Volunteers . GA will co-chair the Hunger Task Force Advisory Council.
