Civil War Panel at SMSU Nov. 10

The final event in the SMSU-sponsored Civil War Remembrance Series will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10 in Charter Hall 217 on campus.

The panel participants and topics include:

  • Professor of History Dr. Jeff Kolnick — Black Lives Matter: The Enduring Legacy of Reconstruction
  • Professor of History Dr. Joan Gittens — “The Negro’s Hour”: The 14th and 15th Amendments and the Struggle Over Votes for Women
  • Emeritus Professor of History Dr. Lloyd Petersen — History of the Civil War Through Music.

The event is part of a series commemorating the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War. It is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the SMSU History Club.
