SMSU Music Program Plans Number of Concerts

As the fall semester comes to a close, the Southwest Minnesota State University Music Program has been busy preparing for several scheduled concerts. They include:

The Mustang Pep Band will perform in concert on Monday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre.

A student recital will be held Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 1:30 p.m. in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre.

The Men’s Glee Club and Bella Voce Women’s Choir will perform “Deepest Winter Night” on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Marshall.

“A Very Prairie Christmas” with performances from the SMSU Community Concert Band, SMSU Jazz Ensemble, SMSU Chorale, Bella Voce, Men’s Glee Club, and the Southwest Minnesota Orchestra, will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Schwan Community Center for the Performing Arts at Marshall High School. Admission for the concert is $5 for adults and free for children ages 5 and under.

A second student recital will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 1:30 p.m. in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre.

The SMSU Community Concert Band will perform “The British Are Coming!” on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre.

“TubaChristmas” will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. in the Upper Level Student Center Lobby at SMSU.

The Southwest Minnesota Orchestra will perform “Holiday Cheer!” on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Church in Marshall.
