SMSU Center for International Education (CIE) will host the annual International Education Week from Monday, November 14 through Friday, November 18. The week includes events to celebrate the international students at SMSU and to invite the community to learn about their countries and cultures.

Events include:

  • International Music Fest: Enjoy international music all week long throughout the Student Center!
  • Study Abroad, Global Treats, and Trivia: Every day, 10 am–12 pm, BA/CH Link.
  • Mr. Fred Amram, Holocaust Survivor: Mon., Nov. 14, Fine Arts Theatre at 6:30pm followed by a reception in the William Whipple Gallery, BA 291.
  • FIFA Livestream: Watch the World Cup soccer games with Live @ The Centers, International Student Organization (ISO) and the SMSU Diversity Soccer Club! FIFA World Cup runs Nov. 7 – Dec. 18 from 7 am–3 pm, Student Center 216.
  • A Taste of Cultures: Learn about another country and enjoy delicious cuisine from each unique culture. FREE with limited seating. Sign up today to reserve your spot! Email CIE@SMSU.edu or stop in the CIE in Student Center 237.
    • Argentina: Mon., Nov. 14 @ 5 pm, Upper Level Conference Center at SMSU
    • Pakistan: Tues., Nov. 15 @ 4 pm, Upper Level Conference Center at SMSU
    • Ghana: Wed., Nov. 16 @ 4 pm, Upper Level Conference Center at SMSU
    • India: Thurs., Nov. 17 @ 4 pm, Lower Level Conference Center at SMSU
  • International Gala: Friday, Nov. 18 @ 6 –10 pm. Upper Level Conference Center at SMSU. Enjoy an evening of international affairs, international cuisine, entertainment, and a fashion show. Stay for the dance party! Dress to impress; cultural attire is encouraged.  Tickets are available at the Center for International Education: CIE@SMSU.edu, 507-537-6018, or stop by SC 237.

This semester, SMSU has 143 international students representing 33 countries.
