POSTPONED: SMSU Jazz Ensemble to Host Tom Scott of The Blues Brothers

THE MARCH 25-26 EVENTS ARE POSTPONED. NEW DATES TO BE DETERMINED.

The SMSU Jazz Ensemble will be hosting guest saxophonist, composer, and producer, Tom Scott from Monday, March 25-Tuesday, March 26.  The ensemble will perform two concerts with Scott, the first on Monday, March 25 at the Estebo Performing Arts Center at Redwood Valley High School at 7:30 p.m.  The concert will also feature the RVHS Jazz Band.  The second concert will be on Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre. This concert will also feature the Lakeview H.S. and Marshall H.S. Jazz Bands.  Both concerts are free and open to the public.

In addition, there will be an open discussion session with Tom Scott on Tuesday, March 26 from 12:00–1:00 p.m. in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre. This session is also free and anyone is welcome to attend.

Tom Scott was a member of the Blues Brothers, the L.A. Express, and the GRP All-Star Big Band. He has recorded more than 30 solo albums with 13 Grammy® nominations and 3 Grammy® awards.  He has also performed on albums with Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, The Beach Boys, the Grateful Dead, Quincy Jones, Frank Sinatra, Oliver Nelson, and many others.
