6th Annual Mustangs Give Day of Service is Sept. 30

Southwest Minnesota State University students, faculty and staff will step beyond the classroom and into the community on Wednesday, Sept. 30, as they participate in the 6th annual Mustangs Give Day of Service.
The event provides the SMSU students, faculty and staff with an opportunity to volunteer at local organizations, schools, nonprofits, and community sites throughout the Marshall area while demonstrating SMSU's commitment to service, leadership, and community engagement.
"Mustangs Give Day of Service is a hands-on way for our students to make a positive impact while building connections within the communities we serve," said Melissa Scholten, director of the Center for Civic and Community Engagement. "It reflects the spirit of SMSU and the university's dedication to preparing engaged citizens and leaders."
Student and employee volunteers will assist with a variety of projects ranging from landscaping and outdoor beautification to organizational and community support activities. The event highlights the strong partnership between SMSU and the Marshall community while encouraging students to give back through meaningful service.
The Mustangs Give Day of Service is coordinated through SMSU's student engagement and service programs and is open to student participants from across campus.
