The President of Southwest Minnesota State University, Dr. David P. Jones, will give the annual State of the University Address on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Center Upper Level at SMSU.

Dr. Jones will be discussing the highlights of the past year, challenges ahead, and current enrollment at SMSU. He will also share the special initiatives underway as he enters his second year leading SMSU after his appointment as permanent president earlier this year.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Visitors are invited to park in Lot A. Permits are not required for parking at SMSU.
