“The SMSU RN to BSN Program does not have you take a set amount of credits each semester. This flexible scheduling was perfect for me as it allowed me to vary the amount of credits I took each semester. I would have struggled without that flexibility as I am a non-traditional student who is also a wife, mother of four, and worked full time while completing my degree. This program is designed to fit into your life, whether you want to be a full-time or part-time student.”

The SMSU Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity (URSA) Committee will accept applications for student research and scholarly activity grants from September 22 through October 6. With generous support from the SMSU Foundation, undergraduate students can receive up to $1,000 to pursue their research interests and experiential learning. A total of $5,000 is available this semester, but another cycle of URSA Grants will be available in spring 2027!

Faculty and staff, please encourage students to apply for the Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity Grants and feel free to share this information in class or post it on D2L. The grants are available to all current SMSU undergraduate students carrying 12 or more credits, with a maximum award of $1,000 per academic year. Funds can support research activities, conference presentations, experiential learning opportunities, and related scholarly pursuits.
