SMSU Students Earn National Titles at BPA Competition

Three Southwest Minnesota State University students earned national recognition after competing in Business Professionals of America’s 60th National Leadership Conference on May 6-10, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. The national business competition hosted 6,900 attendees this year.
Representing SMSU were Alondra Leon-Flores, Savannah Boedigheimer, and Ju Eh. The trio earned a combined three national championship titles and a total of ten top 10 national placements.
Results:
1st place: Health Research Presentation / Leon-Flores
1st place: Visual Design Team / Leon-Flores and Boedigheimer
1st place: Virtual Interview and Digital Portfolio Design / Boedigheimer
2nd place: Virtual Multimedia & Promotion Team / Leon-Flores, Eh and Boedigheimer
3rd place: Entrepreneurship / Boedigheimer
4th place: Parliamentary Procedure Concepts / Leon-Flores
6th place: Meeting & Event Planning Concepts / Boedigheimer
8th place: Prepared Speech / Boedigheimer
10th place: Health Administration Concepts / Leon-Flores
Savannah Boedigheimer is a graduate student in the MBA program from Marshall, Ju Eh is a sophomore art education major from Marshall, and Alondra Leon-Flores is a senior from Worthington majoring in biology and psychology.
“My involvement with BPA has benefited my academic experience at SMSU by pushing me to learn more both inside and outside the classroom,” said Savannah Boedigheimer, BPA team member. “The organization’s real-world application of classroom concepts has allowed me to identify what I learned in the program and see how it connects within the competitions.”
