Bon Appetit Student-Run Restaurant

Join Us for a Student Designed Buffet Dinner!

This is a student-run restaurant open once a week so the class will prepare based on the reservation made a day prior to actual service day. We also would appreciate if you could fill out a comment card in place of tip.

  • Location: SMSU Culinology/Hospitality Dining Room IL 116 in the Individualized Learning Building.
  • Price: $15.00 including tax for a buffet style meal. No tips are expected. (Only CASH or CHECKS are accepted.)

Each day, there will be 25 seats for 5:30pm and 25 seats for 6:45 pm. The tables will be re-dressed between 6:30 and 6:45 pm.

Soup - Moqueca de Camarao

A warm coconut milk stew, packed full of tender shrimp, fire roasted red peppers, and refreshing cilantro.

Salad - Sizzlin Brazilian

Tender black beans, toasted almonds, and sweet juicy mango and pineapple, combine to make a sweet and crunchy traditional Brazilian salad.

Entrée 1 - Hatch Chile Pork Empanadas

Mouthwatering savory and spicy pork, inside a delicate flaky pastry, deep fried to golden perfection.

Entrée 2 - Fango A Passarinho

Chicken wings marinated in a spicy citrus sauce, breaded, and deep-fried till crispy and delicious.

Entrée 3 - Garlic Butter Brazilian Steak

Thinly sliced tender steak, smothered in garlic and butter, topped with freshly chopped parsley.

Side 1 - Roasted Vegetables
Seasoned, oven roasted vegetables that are tender and packed with flavor.
Side 2 - Pao De Queijo
A golden brown, gluten free, bread that is stuffed with parmesan and mozzarella cheese.

Dessert - Strawberry and White Chocolate Brigadeiro

Sweet and decadent white chocolate balls, infused with tart, fruity strawberries.


Soup - Hearty Italian White Bean Soup

Mix of carrots, onion, celery, zucchini, jalapeno peppers, and white navy beans combined into a hearty soup.

Salad - Antipasto Chopped Salad

Chopped romaine lettuce with artichoke hearts, mozzarella balls, salami, grape tomatoes, black olives, and red onions served with Italian dressing.

Entrée 1 - Beef Lasagna

Lasagna noodles stacked with beef and tomato sauce, ricotta and mozzarella cheese.

Entrée 2 - Mozzarella Stuffed Chicken Parm

A traditional chicken parm stuffed with mozzarella cheese.

Entrée 3 - Margherita Pizza

A crispy crust topped with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and extra-virgin olive oil.
Side 1- Garlic Bread
French bread topped with fresh garlic and parsley.
Side 2- Green Beans and Cherry Tomatoes
A mix of green beans, cherry tomatoes, and a hint of garlic and basil.

Dessert - Italian Sprinkle Cookies

A light cookie with a hint of lemon.


Soup - Lemon Orzo Chickpea Soup

A lighter and vegetarian take on Greek avgolemono soup, brightened with lemon juice and fresh herbs.

Salad - Greek Salad

Assorted greens, tomatoes wedges, cucumbers, yellow, julienned peppers, red onion, feta, Kalamata olives, lemon-parsley vinaigrette.

Entrée 1 - Gyro Station.

A traditional Greek sandwich with your choice of meat, combined with tomato, onion, and a home-made tzatziki yogurt sauce.

  • Traditional Gyro Meat – a lamb meatloaf, seasoned with garlic, onions and various herbs, crisped in brown butter.
  • Chicken – Marinated in a mixture of Greek yogurt, lemon juice and its zest, garlic cloves, oregano, and black pepper.

Side 1 - Greek-Style Stuffed Tomatoes

A ripe Roma tomato with a flavor-packed stuffing mixture of red onion, zucchini, garlic, mint and oregano.

Side 2 - Authentic Halloumi Fries with Honey Mustard Dip

Halloumi, a semi-hard chewy, white cheese originating from Cyprus, coated in breadcrumbs and fried, served with a honey mustard dipping sauce.

Dessert - Greek Yogurt Ice Cream with Walnuts and Honey

Creamy frozen Greek yogurt made with honey and topped with caramelized walnuts.
