Mustang Market to Host Open House in New Location

Southwest Minnesota State University’s Mustang Market is the on-campus food pantry. This fall, the Mustang Market has moved to a new space in Bellows Academic 154 and will host an open house for its grand opening. The Open House will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2025 in BA 154 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm with student shopping hours held from 12:00-7:00pm.
In September, the Mustang Market held its first market day of the new academic year. Over 200 students utilized the market, with 3,136 pounds of food and resources distributed. The Mustang Market is supported by monetary donations made to the SMSU Foundation as well as food from individuals and local businesses.
The Mustang Market is grateful for its many local, regional, and statewide partnerships in support of addressing food insecurity in our campus community. The Mustang Market is always seeking partnerships for financial support, retail rescue of items, and excess locally grown produce and meat, as well as pre-packaged meals from local restaurants.
