Pedal for a Purpose

Posted from Friday, January 31, 2020 through Saturday, February 29, 2020

Pedal for a Purpose is an incredible morning of team indoor cycling, entertainment, and plenty of fun to support the Mustang Market food shelf at SMSU and the Marshall Area YMCA annual support campaign. Teams of 3 will ride for a total of 4 hours, dividing up the ride however they like. Each 30-minute segment of the ride has a different theme. Assistant Professor of Exercise Science Kris Cleveland will be instructing one of the sections. There will be a DJ and refreshments throughout the event. All participants will take part in a celebratory lunch where prizes will be awarded. SMSU’s Exercise Science students will be volunteering, providing stretching and foam rolling to keep participants feeling great. All riders also receive an event shirt & a Healthy56258 shirt.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the YMCA.

Registration is open online: and space is limited. Just click the “register” button to create a team. Registration is $50 and goes toward your fundraising requirement of $100. A maximum of 30 teams of 3 people each will ride for a total of four hours. Teams can divide up the riding time among their team members however they choose. Each team has one bike. Riders of all abilities are encouraged to participate. Everyone who joins us is helping to make a difference! Questions about the event can be directed to Jessica Dahms:
