Instruction

Requests for instruction are accepted throughout the year.  However it is preferred that you schedule instruction as soon as possible at the beginning of each semester. Classes are scheduled on a first come first served basis with a preferred minimum of two weeks notice before the requested session.

Librarians provide customized library instruction sessions as requested by on campus faculty, College Now Program faculty, faculty teaching courses off-campus and high school instructors.

SMSU faculty: Contact the librarian you'd like to work with directly at Pam.Gladis@smsu.edu - Mara.Wiggins@smsu.edu - Thomas.Flynn.2@smsu.edu.
If you are unsure, or do not have a preference, please email Pam Gladis - pam.gladis@smsu.edu to coordinate your instruction request.

In your email be sure to indicate
  • the course number and name,
  • the time of the course,
  • and at least three dates that would work for the instruction session.
If you are a College Now or High School instructor interested in library instruction, please contact Maria Kingsbury - maria.kingsbury@smsu.edu with your instruction request.

High school instructors:

In addition to the instruction request form, if your class is unaffiliated with SMSU, your students will be required to complete a community user application if they wish to check out books.  We ask that these forms be returned to us at least one week prior to your visit.
