MATP Special Olympics

"Let me win, but if I can not win, let me be brave in the attempt!"

The 2007 MATP Special Olympics was held on October 28, 2007 in the SMSU R/A facility. MATP (Motorized Activities Training Program) is a Special Olympics Minnesota program designed to provide an opportunity for individuals with severe and profound intellectual disabilities to participate in sports-related activities.

The schedule for the day was the following:

1:30-2:00  Registration in R/A lobby
Meet the coaches, photos with coaches, and Halloween activities
2:15-2:30 Torch relay by Marshall Police Dept.
2:30-2:45 Opening Ceremony
2:45-3:30 Aquatics in Pool
  Bowling, bocce, and games in R/A
3:30-3:45  Snack time
Wheelchair demonstration
3:45-4:30  Group sports in PE gym
Parachute in R/A facility
4:30-5:00 Dinner: Schwan's pizza and ice cream
5:00-5:30 Awards ceremony
5:30-6:00 SMSU Haunted HALLoween in residence halls, with SMSU student escorts
