Delegates

Southwest Minnesota State University is honored to invite representatives from institutions to participate as delegates. Delegates will march in the processional and recessional at the inauguration in their full academic regalia. Following the ceremony, delegates are invited to join President Jones for a private dinner in the SMSU Upper Conference Center.

Potential delegates are encouraged to contact the office of the president at their institution for an appointment and information about required regalia. Delegates are responsible for bringing their own regalia. Once officially appointed, register by September 18.

Register as a delegate

Delegates will receive final instructions during dignitary robing in the SMSU Student Center (SC 207) at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1. Delegates will be walking in the Processional by the year their institution was founded (oldest to newest). Our staff will be on hand to assist you.

For overnight lodging, hotel blocks have been reserved at AmericInn by Wyndham, Sleep Inn, and Quality Inn. Call to reserve your room with the SMSU rate by September 18. See additional lodging options.

Marshall is located in southwestern Minnesota. From the following major airports: 90 miles northeast of Sioux Falls, SD; 150 miles west of Minneapolis, MN; 220 miles south of Fargo. Marshall is home to Marshall/Ryan Field (MML), which can accommodate charter aircraft.
