  • What knowledge will the interviewers be looking for?
  • What is the job description-the responsibilities of the position?

Research the Company:

  • Find out the mission statement of the company
  • Read press releases and news articles on the company
  • View the company’s website
  • Explore the company’s expectations of their employees
  • Explore the company’s philosophy on community service
  • Talk with people you know who work for the company


Research Yourself:

  • What are your strengths?
  • What are your opportunities for improvement?
  • How does your education support the position you are seeking?
  • What are your short and long term goals?
  • What are your interests?
  • What awards/recognition have you previously received?

Match Yourself to the Position:

  • How do your strengths and education relate to the position you are seeking?
  • How will your skills make you successful in this position?
  • How do your short and long term goals relate to that of the company?

Practice for the Interview:

Things to Remember for the Interview:

  • A professional binder and professional pen
  • Extra copies of your resume
  • At LEAST 3-5 questions for the interviewer
  • Arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment
  • Overdress rather than under dress
  • If appropriate, bring your portfolio
