See how these resources in our Marshall community can help with your writing.

  • Marshall Lyon County Library – In addition to housing books and other resources that you could use as sources for your essays, the Lyon County Library has study and meeting rooms that you can utilize if you’re needing a quiet space to work on your papers or other assignments.
  • Writer’s Café – The Marshall Lyon County Library is home to many writing programs. The Writer’s Café is open to all writers in the region, and the events are held virtually on discord. With the Writer’s Café, writers of various abilities gather to discuss their projects before having a designated work time.
  • Literacy Volunteers of Southwest Minnesota – The Literacy Volunteers of Southwest Minnesota trains tutors to work with adult learners in order to support them in reaching their literacy goals. They also work with families and youth to ensure access to lifelong learning.
  • Plum Creek Library system – The Marshall Lyon County Library is part of the Plum Creek Library System. With a card to the Marshall public library, you will also have access to resources that other libraries in southwest Minnesota offer.
  • McFarland Library – The SMSU campus library offers an array of books, articles, and other resources for students and community members alike. The McFarland Library is also home to the Writing Center and the Research Help Desk.
