Join Our Team

Student tutors are essential to the Writing Center’s functions. As a student tutor, you will be part of a team that works to help other students with their writing needs. You don’t need to be studying English to work with the Writing Center, either. We encourage students in all disciplines to join our team!

If you are interested in becoming a Writing Center tutor, then you should contact Dr. Michael Albright, the Writing Center director, by email at michael.albright@smsu.edu. Following Dr. Albright's approval, you will enroll in a five-week, one credit course, ENG 480: Tutoring Writing, where you will learn how to properly tutor other students in writing.
