Information Technology Services – Graduate Assistant

Purpose of Position

This position will support the TRC's day-to-day operations. In addition, the position will help update ITS web pages. As needs arise, the CIO may assign other projects. The position will participate in planning for the deployment of new services and tools, including training. This position will also help keep the labs operational and manage student workers at the TRC.

Responsibilities

1. Assist with the day-to-day operations at the TRC.
   1. Monitor and handle incoming requests.
   2. Create and update documentation.
   3. Assist with implementing policies and procedures.
   4. Provide library support as needed.
2. Assist in updating ITS web pages.
   1. Periodically review ITS website information to ensure it is up to date.
   2. Update website documentation.
3. Participate in ITS planning for deploying new services and tools.
   1. Train clients (e.g., staff and students).
   2. Train support staff.
4. Assist the Support Services Manager with managing student workers.
   1. Hire and train new student workers.
   2. Schedule departmental training as needed.
   3. Develop ongoing student worker employment plans.

Salary & Appointment

Position appointed on an annual basis for August–May. Annual stipend of $8,000, paid on a biweekly basis, and a tuition waiver for SMSU graduate classes.
