Technology Resource Center – Graduate Assistant

Purpose of Position

This position will support day-to-day TRC operations. The position will also help update ITS web pages. The CIO may assign other projects as needs arise. The graduate assistant will help plan the deployment of new services and tools, including training. This position will also help keep the labs operational and manage student workers at the TRC.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Assist with the day-to-day operations at the TRC.
   • Monitor and handle incoming requests.
   • Create and update documentation.
   • Assist with implementing policies and procedures.
   • Provide Library support as needed.
2. Assist with updating ITS web pages.
   • Periodically review ITS website information to ensure it is up to date.
   • Update website documentation.
3. Participate in ITS planning processes for deploying new services and tools.
   • Train clients, including staff and students.
   • Train support staff.
4. Assist the Support Services Manager in managing student workers.
   • Assist with hiring and training new student workers.
   • Schedule departmental training as needed.
   • Develop ongoing student worker employment plans.

Salary & Appointment

Position appointed on an annual basis for August-May. Annual stipend of $8,000 paid on a bi-weekly basis and a tuition waiver for SMSU graduate classes.
