Parking Lots

Southwest Minnesota State University maintains twelve parking lots for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Parking permits are not required in university parking lots unless posted signage indicates otherwise. Certain parking spaces or areas may have specific restrictions, which will be identified by signs posted in those locations. Individuals parking on campus are responsible for following all posted parking restrictions and regulations. 

Street Parking

Parking is available on three of the five streets surrounding Southwest Minnesota State University. Birch Street has a two-hour parking limit. Curbs painted yellow indicate no-parking areas. Please observe all posted signage for additional parking restrictions.

A snow emergency parking restriction is in effect on Birch Street, Mustang Trail, Stadium Drive, and State Street North from November 1 through April 1. During this period, parking is prohibited on these streets between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. During a snow emergency, generally involving three inches or more of snowfall, vehicles parked on Birch Street will be towed.
