Meet Your Advisor

“Meet Your Advisor” is a program that introduces new SMSU students to their academic advisor. The program takes place during Gold Rush Days before the fall semester begins. During “Meet Your Advisor,” students have the opportunity to learn more about the intricacies of their major and meet other students in it. All new students, both first-year and transfer, are strongly encouraged to attend this event, as it establishes a foundation between students and their academic advisor that will be built upon throughout their time at SMSU.

“Meet Your Advisor” is held on the Friday of Gold Rush Days immediately following Convocation. Students will receive information from the Deeann Griebel Student Success Center prior to the event regarding their assigned academic advisor(s). During the transition from Convocation to “Meet Your Advisor,” students will be guided by their academic program to various locations around campus where the programs will meet with them.
