As a parent and/or guardian, we know how important safety is to you when sending your student off to college. Please know that we have an exceptional staff at SMSU who work hard in our University Public Safety office to offer a secure campus for all students, faculty, and staff.

Remind your student to sign up for SMSU Alert. SMSU Alert is the emergency notification text messaging system that is available on our campus. If an emergency arises, a text message will be sent to the student's cell number and/or the email address they provide on the sign-up form.
