New Orleans/Kansas City, 2023

In March of 2023 the SMSU Jazz Ensemble traveled to Kansas City, Missouri and New Orleans, Louisiana for a 7 day tour of these cradles of Jazz.  The tour included a jam session at the Blue Room in Kansas City as well as the American Jazz Museum and the National World War I Museum and Memorial.  The tour continued in New Orleans with a exploration of the French Quarter, a trip to Mardi Gras World and the New Orleans Jazz Museum, a dinner cruise on the Steamboat Natchez, an evening of music at Fritzel's Jazz Club, and a clinic and performance at the Jazz Kitchen.
